Renewable Energy Power

Our fossil fuel resources are running low and burning them causes a number of hazards to the environment.

We cannot replenish used fossil fuel resources and the only way to avoid further damage to the environment is to eliminate our dependence on them completely and take advantage of renewable energy power.

There are many alternatives to using fossil fuels as a form of energy.

One of the best options is to use the energy from the sun and convert it into Solar power.  Most of life on earth depends on the sun and there is enough energy to power the world 1000 times over.

Another great option is Wind power. Here, wind is being utilized to turn wind turbines which in turn then produce electricity.

Marine energy is another option. It converts energy produced by the waves and the tides into electricity. This technology needs to be further developed but it certainly offers many benefits.

There are certainly other renewable energy power options being researched, but the three mentioned above are currently in a leading position. They are also the only options that have the potential to provide global energy solutions.

Solar power is a renewable energy power that can already be used very efficiently today.

Despite the fact that people knew for centuries how the sun can be used to produce electricity, fossil fuels became the dominant choice in the early 1900′s as they were cheap and readily available.

However, our society has been using fossil fuels too fast and they are running out.

Provided that we have the right technologies to harness the heat of the sun there is enough energy to power our whole society.

Many people worldwide are already using solar collectors as an alternative technology to heat water for showering and washing. Solar collectors are a cheaper form of electricity and can even provide hot water in times of an electricity shortage.

Now is the best time to start using this technology because the prices for solar collectors will probably only go up as electricity prices increase in the future (due to the shortages of fossil fuels).

In addition, using solar power has great environmental benefits – no smog, acid rain or other gas emission and instead the sun continually replenishes itself.

Wind power is another good renewable energy power that has proven itself to be successful in the past.

As early as 1890 wind power was used as a source of electricity in continental Europe and for years windmills were used to pump water and mill grain.

During the last decade wind power has emerged as a potential candidate to provide a global and sustainable solution to our energy crisis. Today, you can find wind farms all around the globe that are making use of this kind of renewable energy power.

The concept behind this technology is rather simple but it works very well: the wind is spinning three blades that are attached to a rotor. The spinning of the rotor is then converted into electricity.

The only problem with this technology is that for wind power to work there has to be wind. This technology will therefore work better in some corners of the world than others.

The third type of renewable energy power – marine energy – has not yet been researched and developed as fully as solar and wind power. However, the evidence so far suggests that this technology can also work very efficiently.

It is just a question of time until marine energy is in the mainstream as solar power and wind power already are today.
