I have reviewed Earth4Energy on the following different criteria and this is what I found:

Can I build my own solar panel and wind turbine with Earth4Energy?
Earth4Energy is a complete guide. It contains all the information necessary to successfully build a fully functioning and electricity producing solar panel and wind turbine. There is no information missing. It covers everything in detail that you need to know to master your first solar panel project successfully.
(There are a few other guides on the market that are also complete but that is by no means the average case. I have come across numerous guides that only provide incomplete information.)

Are the instructions easy to understand and to follow?
That for me is a point of major importance. After all, the goal is to make solar panels and wind turbines to make our own electricity. So, how easy is it to follow the instructions given by Earth4Energy?
Here, Earth4Energy scores much higher than any other guide we have reviewed. The instructions are excellent and well thought-out. The step-by-step manual is very easy to follow. The diagrams are full color, well labeled and very easy to understand. The instructions and diagrams tie very well together. Every single step is explained in details. Some other guides also have good and easy to follow instructions but what really sets Earth4Energy apart is that they also provide clear and concise video instructions. Being able to see somebody else performing the tasks on video and then just having to copy them is by far the easiest way for most of us to quickly and effortlessly make our own solar panel. With the video you know exactly what you need to do next. It’s like having a professional expert right there beside you.

What about updates and customer support?
It is important that you can receive continuous support from your provider. Earth4Energy scores very highly here, too, for three reasons:

  • The guide is well kept up to date. They provide free and regular updates and revisions for the lifetime of the product.
  • They provide excellent customer support (via email).
  • They listen to their customers. For example, some customers requested to include video instructions for the building of wind turbines and they did!

What extras do I get?

Earth4Energy offers numerous extras. They provide a “Solar Help Package”. This package includes an installation and mounting guide as well as electrical wiring plans for your solar panels. The package also includes a solar calculator and governmental forms for tax credits and rebates. You also get your own wind maps, an info video series, a special parts list, tips where to get your batteries and a guide to reducing your oil dependence. All these extras fit very well together with the D.I.Y. instructions for solar panel and wind turbine and enhance the value of Earth4Energy considerably.

Is Earth4Energy good value for money?
Earth4Energy costs about the same as any of the other guides we have reviewed. However, they stand out because they not only provide 3 books but also D.I.Y. video instructions to build your solar panel, D.I.Y. video instructions to build your wind turbine as well as a number of other very useful extras such as direct links you can use to easily order the materials you need to make your own solar panel. Clear instructions on how to install the solar panel you build on the roof of your house, governmental application forms for tax rebates etc plus many other extras.

Notes:
This is actually true for all D.I.Y energy guides: Building one solar panel will not be enough to completely eliminate your power bill. You need to scale up your system by building several panels to reduce your electricity bill further.
